(JUBA, SOUTH SUDAN) – The South Sudan Vendors’ Association has officially opened registration for vendors operating at the University of Juba Customs Market, located next to the main Nyakuron Market in Juba.
According to the association, the registration exercise began in early September and is targeting local traders who own shops in the newly established market, known as “Suk Jama Juba.”
The association is urging vendors who have not yet registered to do so promptly to meet work permit requirements and avoid further interruptions to their businesses.
The association’s Secretary for Gender, Nyandeng Deng Maror, has also appealed to people interested in business to join the market, saying collective efforts in the business sector can contribute to the development of South Sudan.
She further encouraged women to take advantage of the business opportunities available at the market to support themselves and their families.
The South Sudan Vendors’ Association, under the chairmanship of Michael Hal Hal and Secretary-General Diing Mayath, is a traders’ institution that oversees the activities and interests of vendors across Juba City.
